Meet Your Therapist
Bethany Hintz is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) practicing in the Grand Rapids area, with over 8 years of professional experience helping individuals and families find their way forward.
Bethany earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida Southern College, then her Master's in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. She uses multiple modalities and evidence-based practices — including CBT, Mindfulness, and DBT — to help clients identify their strengths and improve their mental health.
She specializes in helping clients understand how the brain responds to stress and trauma, empowering them to take control of their own wellbeing. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, life transitions, or something harder to name, Bethany meets you where you are.
What I Help With
Every person's journey is different. Whether you're facing one of the challenges below — or something else entirely — you deserve a space to feel heard and supported.
Constant worry, racing thoughts, or panic attacks can feel overwhelming. Together we'll develop tools to quiet anxiety and reclaim calm in your daily life.
Depression can make getting through each day feel impossible. Therapy can help you rebuild motivation, reconnect with joy, and find your way back to yourself.
Past experiences don't have to define your future. Using evidence-based approaches, we'll work through trauma at a pace that feels safe for you.
Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been navigating ADHD for years, therapy can help you build strategies that work with your brain, not against it.
Behavioral challenges, family stress, and childhood anxiety are hard on everyone. Bethany works with children, adolescents, and families to build stronger communication and healthier dynamics at home.
Job changes, grief, divorce, parenthood — big changes can destabilize us. Therapy offers a steady place to process, adapt, and move forward with clarity.
Negative self-talk and low self-worth are more common than you might think — and very treatable. We'll work together to help you see yourself with more compassion.
Burnout, overwhelm, and the weight of doing it all are real and serious. Therapy provides a dedicated space to rest, reflect, and rebuild — for you.

Book Your First SessionCommon Questions
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Here are answers to questions we hear most often from new clients.
If you're struggling — even if you're not sure why — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to seek support. Many people find that therapy helps them gain clarity, feel less alone, and build better coping skills.
Your first session is a chance to get to know each other. Bethany will ask about what brought you in, your history, and your goals. There's no pressure — you share at your own pace, and nothing is off limits.
Better Days Therapy accepts Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, and Optum. If your plan isn't listed, reach out — we can discuss options including self-pay rates and out-of-network benefits.
It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some clients meet for a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. Bethany will work with you to create a plan that makes sense for your situation.
Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person for most conditions. It also makes it easier to attend sessions consistently, which is one of the most important factors in progress.
You can request an appointment online through the client portal, or give us a call at 616.232.6520. We'll get back to you promptly to schedule a time that works for you.
